Description
Convex body: jug or pitcher? Curvature suggests fragment from shoulder. Exterior has white slip painted broadly in two lines and a loop and yellow glaze; interior has wheel ridging.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric: 2.5YR 5/8, red. Slip: white. Glaze: yellow (PMS 1345). Hard, medium-coarse fabric with frequent, small, rounded, white (lime) inclusions and small, angular, gold sparkling inclusions; frequent, small, angular voids. Very thick, even, dull slip. Thick, even, semilustrous glaze shows crazing.
Preservation comment
One fragment preserves small part of upper(?) body. Slight, very sparse abra-sion, pitting, and gouging.
