Amphora with heavy construction. Low sloping (or rounded?) shoulder. Dipinto of large red letters in three lines (repeated) on upper shoulder up to turn to neck. Line 1: ΞΝϛ+ . Line 2: ΞΝϛ+ . Line 3: ΞΝϛ[+] (Crosses have longer horizontal bar. Volume: 56 sextarii).
Fabric, firing, surface
Brick red with slightly more orange surface on exterior (1-2mm). Medium fine, hard; smooth to slightly granular break, with rough surface texture. Common, small, somewhat clustered, subrounded white inclusions; rare, small, rounded black inclusions; very rare, elongated voids.
Preservation description
One sherd preserves small part of shoulder or lower neck. Slight, sparse abrasion and chipping around edges; thin, faint film of encrustation across interior surface.
