Description
Vertical to slightly flaring rim has slightly groove on outer face, simple rounded lip, and thick projecting ledge for lid with slight concavity below. Upper wall slopes straight outward from sharp articulation with rim.
Fabric, firing, surface
Fabric 10R 4/1, dark grayish red, fired darker near surfaces (2-3 mm). Hard, granular fabric; slightly hackly break and pimply surface. Common, well sorted, subangular to subrounded, few tabular, small to medium, light (white, yellow) and light gray particles; rare sparkling bits (silvery mica?); rare small voids.
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves ca. 18% of rim and small part of upper body. Slight, sparse abrasion but clean breaks; thin, extensive patches of encrustation.
