Description
Neck profile is short and rim overall more thickly built; note also the sharp inflection from inner edge of lip to inner neck. Groove around base of neck is irregular in depth.
Fabric, firing, surface
Fabric 5: pale brown, consistently fired; hard, slightly gritty; smooth break and unusually smooth surface; uncommon tiny white (lime) and dark bits (gray to black); rare, small to medium, angular, rocky chunks, mostly white but also dark gray
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves entire rim and small part of upper neck. Slight, sparse abrasion and large chipping; somewhat worn breaks; scattered patches of thin encrustation. Cloud of secondary scorching over lip.
