Irregular hollow lid handle: pinched on sides, flat on top.
Fabric, firing, surface
5R 5/4 (weak red). Hard, coarse fabric; slightly hackly break. Frequent, well sorted, sandy inclusions: small, angular and subrounded, rarely tabular, light and dark inclusions (white, yellow, pale red, light gray) inclusions visible in break and in surface; rare black specks; frequent tiny flakes of silvery mica. All surfaces fired patchy light brown to grey (2-3mm).
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves entire knob but none of body. Slight, extensive abrasion and pitting and occasional chipping; work edges. Sparse specks of encrustation.
