Description
Wide dish. Flaring wall that turns upward slightly toward rim. Thickened, plain rim with rounded to pointed inner edge; outer face has wide flange that is now broken off, defined below by sharp, small groove.
Fabric, firing, surface
Pinkish brown; consistently fired. Hard, find; smooth break. Sparse, varied tiny bits (some micaceous); rare small pores. Red, even, semimatte slip; slightly thicker and more smoothed on interior, thin and unsmoothed on exterior; overall good quality. Pergamene region?
Preservation comment
One small sherd preserves ca. 8% of rim and small part of upper body. Slight, extensive abrasion and minor chipping; worn breaks; extensive, thick, irregular coating of plaster.
