Fabric, firing, surface
Pale brown, consistently fired. Hard, fine fabric; smooth to vaguel conchoidal break, soapy surface texture. Rare, tiny and small, tabular light, red, and dark gray bits; rare, small, angular, opaque offwhite bits; rare sparkles (silvery mica or quartzite?). Not Asia Minor or Aegean: Pontic-northern Balkan?
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves entire toe and small part of adjacent lower wall. Slight, extensive abrasion with gouging; worn breaks; sparse, thick patches of encrustation.
