Description
Early Roman wine amphora produced in Beirut and traded chiefly within Levant. Conical, ribbed body that tapers to small button, with concave cylindrical neck (‟hourglass”), small triangular rim, and narrow loop handles, oval in section. Reddish or orangish brown fabric, sandy texture with granular break, small lime and quartz inclusions.
