Description
Commonest form of ware produced in various shapes and sizes during 5th-6th centuries. Dish or low bowl with small ring foot or false ring foot; flaring body; and vertical rim, concave on the outside, and overhanging below in flange. Rim varies over time toward thicker, shorter, more hanging form (subtypes A-H) but certain details of chronology require refinement. Decorated with stamps and rouletting.
