Description
Middle portion of tegula. Left end of manufacturing stamp is preserved on concave side (interior). Rectangular panel (D. 0.003) encloses Latin letters in relief: CỌ[- - -] (C has serif at top). Only upper left curve of O(?) is legible.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
10YR 8/2, very pale brown. Somewhat hard, medium-fine fabric with rare, medium, rounded, red to brown inclusions and very few, small, rounded voids. Corinthian.
Preservation comment
One small fragment broken on all sides preserves top and bottom. Slight, sparse encrustation. Stamped letters are weathered and encrusted but faintly legible.
