Description
Wide, almond-shaped outline. Oval, slightly concave discus has Greek cross flaring arms and raised outline in low relief crowded inside low raised rim, large central filling hole, small airhole below, and wide and flaring channel to wickhole. Shoulder has inward-sloping groove with palm branch in relief. Short, rounded nozzle. Slight joining ridge and broad ledge. Details are blurry, and retouching is evident in palm branch.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric: 2.5YR 6/6 (light red). Late Corinthian red lamp fabric but hard, dense, somewhat gritty.
Preservation comment
One large fragment preserves small part of discus, roughly one-quarter of shoulder, and entire nozzle. Slight abrasion; slight, extensive encrustation.
