Description
Circular, concave discus has central filling hole with broad rim and ring, rays, small airhole at bottom, and prominent framing ring. Broad, slightly sloping shoulder has large ovules (nine per side) with double circles flanking nozzle and handle. Long kite-shaped nozzle. Ring handle has two grooves. Body below suture is rounded down to base. Details are blurry.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
10YR 7/4, very pale brown. Early-Middle Roman Corinthian lamp fabric: buff; fine. Sparse, small clay nodules.
Preservation comment
Eleven large joining fragments preserve >75% of top but nozzle is missing. Traces of encrustation.
