Description
Elongated outline, with circular body tapering to long nozzle. Lenticular discus with deep walls and flat center has cross with flaring, forked arms, raised rim and double dots in corners(?), all in low relief, hole below, narrow palm branch as inner framing ring and outer band with row of framed double dots. Steeply rounded shoulder has row of large double dots.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric: 2.5YR 6/6, light red to pinkish brown. Slip: 10R 5/6, red. Aswan ware: fine, dense, flaky fabric with smooth break, rare to uncommon, medium, subrounded, white and red inclusions, and traces of quartz and biotite. Thin, even, dull slip as wash.
Preservation comment
One small fragment preserves one-quarter of shoulder and small part of discus. Slight abrasion; thick patches of encrustation or mortar.
