Description
Oval outline. Circular, slightly concave, plain discus has central filling hole with flat rim out to one wide and one narrow, low, raised rings, and narrow double framing ring. Slightly sloping shoulder has thick, wavy stalk and tight grape clusters. This type has long, rounded nozzle. Tall, narrow, solid handle with three grooves above. Slightly concave base has raised, rounded framing ring. Details are slightly blurry.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric: 7.5YR 8/3, pink. Slip: 7.5YR 8/4, pink, to 7.5YR 7/6, reddish yellow. Somewhat soft, fine, micaceous fabric with uncommon, very small, rounded, white (calcareous) inclusions. Very thin, even, slightly lustrous slip. Ephesian?
Preservation comment
Five large fragments, four joining, preserve discus, handle, roughly one-half of shoulder, and one-third of base. Slight abrasion and pitting.
