Description
Tear-shaped outline. Circular, concave discus has rosette with 8(?) concave, rounded petals. Sloping shoulder has wavy lines and two single circles at base of handle. Thick, pierced handle has three grooves above and two below and twists at suture; lower handle narrows toward base and has flanking grooves.
Fabric, firing, surface
Fabric: 5YR 7/6, reddish yellow, to 5YR 6/4, light reddish brown. Slip: 10R 5/4, weak red. Thin, even slip as wash preserved in grooves. Sparse, large clay nodules.
Preservation comment
Two large joining fragments preserve entire handle, 33% of shoulder and discus, and small part of base.
