Description
Circular discus has relief of two spindly legs and long feet in profile (grotesque figure?), raised rim, and two prominent, flat framing rings. Sloping to rounded plain shoulder. This type has volute nozzle.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric: 10YR 7/4, very pale brown. Slip: 2.5YR 6/8, light red, to 5YR 5/6, yel-lowish red. Hard, dense, fine, slightly porous fabric. Lustrous slip varies in thickness. Italian.
Preservation comment
Two nonjoining fragments (a, b) preserve one-quarter of discus and small part of shoulder. Traces of encrustation.
