Description
Circular, concave, plain discus has cylindrical stump of central suspension handle, filling hole above, and wide framing ring. Broad, sloping shoulder has large ovules terminating at nozzle with small trilobate rosettes. Long, rounded nozzle with large volutes and small, partially punched airhole in channel; traces of burning.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
10YR 7/4, very pale brown. Early-Middle Roman Corinthian lamp fabric: somewhat soft, fine but mealy texture. Unglazed. Sparse, small clay nodules.
Preservation comment
Ten joining fragments preserve most of shoulder and discus and entire nozzle. Sparse abrasion; slight, sparse encrustation.
