Description
Tear-shaped(?) outline. Oval or tear-shaped, concave, plain discus with central filling hole, two small circles at base of handle, raised rim, and framing ring. Sloping shoulder has single row of globules, some framed by squares added during retouching. Prominent joining ridge, slight ledge, and minor webbing. Short, thick, solid handle with three grooves; upper handle is rounded and lower handle is flat. Flat base has triple circular grooves around incuse design: chrism.
Fabric, firing, surface
5YR 6/6, reddish yellow. Late Corinthian red fabric. Uneven firing. Sparse, large clay nodules.
Preservation comment
Two large, nonjoining fragments preserve one-third of discus, one-quarter of shoulder, and most of handle and base. Slight abrasion; traces of encrustation.
