Description
Tear-shaped outline. Oval, concave discus has relief of Greek cross with single circles at ends of arms, holes in quadrants, and raised rim. Slightly sloping shoulder has wavy lines. Long, rounded nozzle has tapered panel from discus to wickhole with small channel to central airhole. Slight joining ridge, narrow ledge, and webbing. Short, thick, solid handle has two grooves. Slightly concave base has single circular groove around incuse signature: [Χ]ΙΟ|ΝΗϹ. Details are very blurry.
Fabric, firing, surface
2.5YR 5/8, red. Late Corinthian red fabric.
Preservation comment
Seven large joining fragments preserve almost complete lamp but lack small parts of upper left rim and base. Slight abrasion.
