Description
Almond-shaped body. Circular, concave discus has central filling hole and rosette with nine concave, rounded petals. Triangular groove with side ridges splits lower petals and extends to incomplete airhole at top of nozzle. Slightly sloping shoulder has herringbone in low relief. Rounded nozzle framed by double angled grooves has narrow channel from airhole to wickhole flanked by two single circles; traces of burning.
Fabric, firing, surface
5YR 7/6, reddish yellow. Somewhat soft, somewhat smooth, medium-fine fabric. Unglazed. Sparse, large clay nodules.
Preservation comment
One large fragment preserves roughly one-third of discus and shoulder. Slight to moderate abrasion; slight, extensive encrustation.
