Description
Circular, shallow discus has figural relief, filling hole upper right, and slit as airhole at bottom. Relief depicts Eros seated three-quarters right on unidentified object (rock? arms of Ares?) with left arm on seat, right arm bent upward to head, left leg outstretched, right leg flexed, and wings spread out from behind shoulder. Details are blurry and retouching is evident in hair and face.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
5YR 6/8, reddish yellow. Typical Early-Middle Roman Corinthian fabric: fine; buff.
Preservation comment
Two joining fragments preserve 66% of discus. Sparse, thin encrustation.
