Description
Circular to oval, concave discus with raised rim has relief of cross monogram with rho open left and curled loop, flaring arms that are divided and crosshatched, and double circle at intersection of arms; holes in quadrants. Narrow, sloping shoulder has small wavy lines. This type has channel from discus to nozzle.
Fabric, firing, surface
Typical fabric, firing, and surface treatment for ware. 5YR 7/6, reddish yellow. Somewhat hard, flaky, somewhat gritty fabric. Unglazed.
Preservation description
One small fragment preserves 66% of discus and part of shoulder. Slight, somewhat sparse pitting and abrasion; worn breaks with chipping; slight film of encrustation.
