Description
Oval to tear-shaped outline. Circular, concave discus has rosette with 14(?) concave, rounded petals without rim or ring. Sloping shoulder has herringbone in relief. Short, thick, solid handle with three grooves above and two below; lower handle narrows slightly toward base and has flanking grooves. Flat base has double circular grooves.
Fabric, firing, surface
Fabric: 5YR 6/6, reddish yellow. Slip: 10R 5/6, red. Thin, uneven, dull slip preserved in patches.
Preservation comment
One large fragment preserves <25% of discus and shoulder, entire handle, and small part of base. Extensive encrustation.
