Description
Tear-shaped outline. Oval, almost flat discus has central filling hole with double raised rim, rosette with eight concave, pointed petals that line up on axis, and flat framing ring. Slightly sloping shoulder has flat herringbone and beveled rim; it pinches out toward nozzle. Rounded nozzle appears to have short flanking groove but is not clearly demarcated. Details are simple and geometric. Short, blocky handle has two short grooves in front and attaches to shoulder.
Fabric, firing, surface
2.5YR 6/8, light red. Late Corinthian red fabric.
Preservation description
Two large joining fragments preserve 50% of discus, shoulder, and upper handle. Very rare, slight abrasion; clean breaks; faint, thin patches of encrustation.
