Description
Circular, concave, plain discus with raised rim has central filling hole and three holes around. Sloping shoulder has herringbone in low relief, almost flat, and double circles flanking nozzle. Rounded nozzle framed by double angled grooves has large airhole at top and short channel to wickhole; traces of burning.
Fabric, firing, surface
Typical fabric, firing, and surface treatment for ware. 5YR 6/6, reddish yellow. Hard, fine fabric; smooth break and texture. Unglazed.
Preservation description
Two joining fragments preserve ca. 66% of discus, 50% of shoulder, and top of nozzle. Slight, sparse abrasion and scoring; slightly worn breaks; faint patches of encrustation.
