Description
Circular outline. Circular, concave, plain discus has central filling hole and framing ring. Rounded shoulder has three uneven rows of large globules. Volute nozzle. Excess clay from joining two molded halves over lower right rim.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric: 2.5YR 6/6, light red. Slip: 10R 3/4, dusky red. Typical Early-Middle Roman Athenian lamp fabric: slightly gritty texture; sparse, tiny to small black particles.
Preservation comment
One fragment preserves ca. 25% of discus, shoulder, and upper base of nozzle. Slight encrustation.
