Description
Circular outline. Convex body with rounded shoulder. Rim set off by prominent groove slopes downward to wide central filling hole. Black glaze on exterior. Corinthian.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric: 7.5YR 8/4, pink. Slip: 2.5YR 4/2, weak red, to 2.5YR 5/6, red. Somewhat soft, fine fabric with very rare, very small, spherical white inclusions and very rare, tiny flecks of golden mica. Thin, even, dull to semilustrous slip, very flaky. Corinthian.
Preservation comment
One small fragment preserves ca. 25% of shoulder and inner rim. Slight gouging and abrasion; slight, sparse encrustation.
