Description
Plate with vertical rim. Very shallow ring foot. Steeply angled flaring wall. Prominent carination with groove just below. Thick, even, lustrous slip preserved on interior, exterior, and resting surface.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric: 2.5YR 6/6, light red. Slip: 2.5YR 5/8, red. Material typical for ware: ESB2.
Preservation comment
One large fragment preserves less than one-quarter of foot, wall, carination, and lower rim. Extensive abrasion; slight, sparse encrustation.
