Description
Imported wheelmade fine gray ware, probably Campanian. Slight, angular ring foot. Steep convex wall rises to thin, projecting rim. Glazed overall. Concentric incised grooves on floor; single incised groove on upper surface of rim near interior.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric: 10YR 6/3, pale brown. Slip: Gley 1 2.5/3N, very dark gray. Hard, very fine fabric with rare, very small, mica and black inclusions. Somewhat thick, dull to semilustrous slip, worn in many places.
Preservation comment
Fabric: 2.5 YR 6/8, light red. Slip: 10R 4/6, red, to 10R 2.5/1, reddish black. Somewhat hard, very fine fabric with frequent, very small, black and white inclu-sions. Semilustrous to dull slip, flaky, varying in thickness and color.
