Description
Corinthian wheelmade pomegranate vase, Late Geometric/Early Protocorinthian Style. Cylindrical stem and flat disk resting surface projecting slightly beyond shaft. Six painted bands around circumference of shaft and traces of additional concentric rings on resting surface. Opposite end preserves trace of flaring lower wall of vase.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric: 7.5YR 8/2, pinkish white. Slip: 5YR 3/1, very dark gray. Soft, very fine fabric with frequent, very small, white and black inclusions. Thin, even, dull slip, flaky.
Preservation comment
One large fragment preserves most of stem and trace of lower wall. Extensive abrasion and chipping; slight patches of encrustation.
