Description
Krater. Flaring ring foot. Straight flaring wall, roughly knife-trimmed. Offset, outward-thickened rim, deeply undercut, with wide groove on interior. Round, horizontal handle applied to lip.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
5YR 5/4, reddish brown. Somewhat hard, gritty fabric with common, poorly sorted, white (calcareous), subangular-angular inclusions and few lime reaction rings and rare, small, gray fragments; splintery break with elongated voids. Regional cooking fabric.
Preservation comment
Nine large fragments preserve entire base, complete lower body, most of upper body, 66% of rim, and one entire handle. Slight erosion and flaking along breaks; slight, extensive encrustation.
