Description
Bowl in cooking ware. Convex, flaring upper wall. Horizontal rim with two broad grooves on upper face. Slip on interior and top of rim to handle.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric: 2.5YR 6/8, light red. Slip: 10R 5/6, red. Somewhat hard, gritty fabric with smooth to vaguely hackly break and bumpy surface texture; uncommon golden mica and frequent, small, rounded and subangular, white (calcareous) particles, many opening at surface, and rare, small, angular, gray stoney chunks (limestone or feldspar?). Thin, semilustrous slip, very patchy.
Preservation comment
One fragment preserves <25% of rim and small part of upper body. Slight erosion and flaking; slight, moderate encrustation.
