Description
Low bowl. Flaring lower wall. Keel rim with rounded, outward-thickened, notched lip and down-sloping flange. Spiral motif painted on outer face. Turning lines on exterior.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric (interior): Gley 1 4/2, dark gray; (exterior): 10YR 6/2, light brown-ish gray. Slip: 10R 4/2, weak red. Somewhat soft, gritty fabric with uncommon, spherical, small white and tan inclusions. Very thin, even, dull slip. Thin but firm, dull, grayish white paint.
Preservation comment
Two nonjoining fragments (a, b) preserve one-quarter of rim and small part of body below keel. Slight, sparse chipping; slight, sparse encrustation.
