Description
Sgraffito decoration incised by fine point on floor: medallion containing interlace on imbricated ground enclosed by double bands and dentils or ovules. Details are finely rendered.
Fabric, firing, surface
Fabric: 2.5YR 5/6, red. Slip: creamy white. Glaze: light yellow (PMS 7401). Somewhat soft, fine fabric with very rare, small, white (lime) and gray inclusions and rare, miniscule, sparkling inclusions. Thick, even, dull slip as wash. Thick, even, fine, lustrous glaze shows crazing. Shallow bowl or plate. Flaring ring foot. Exterior has worn white slip-wash; interior has creamy white slip and light yellow glaze.
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves small part of foot and floor. Very slight chipping.
