Description
Bowl or plate. Low-flaring wall to upturned, slightly flaring, tapering rim with pointed lip. Exterior has white slip-wash on upper body, especially on rim, and clear glaze; interior has white slip and yellow to orangish yellow. No decoration preserved; might have had sgraffito?
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric: 2/5YR 5/8, red. Slip: white. Glaze: yellow to orangish yellow (PMS 7507–7563). Somewhat soft, fine to gritty fabric with rare, small, rounded to sub-angular, white (lime) and small, sparkling inclusions; rare, very small voids. Thin, uneven, dull, mottled slip as wash. Somewhat thick, uneven, dull to semilustrous glaze shows crazing.
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves small part of rim and upper body. Moderate, very sparse abrasion and chipping along breaks; slight, sparse encrustation.
