Description
Cylindrical bowl. Frieze panel with fillet below and fillet, undulating band (like cyma recta), and fillet above. Projecting, squared rim with rounded upper edge. Molded on wall in low relief: Heracles wrestling wild horse of Diomedes; Heracles dragging Cerberus; and Heracles seeking the apples in the Garden of the Hesperides.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric: 5YR 6/8, reddish yellow. Slip: 2.5YR 6/8, light red. Fine, soft fabric with rare, very small, spherical, white inclusions.
Preservation comment
Three joining fragments (376+415) preserve ca. 33% of body with figural frieze and upper molding to rim. Severe abrasion; moderate patches of encrustation.
