Description
Broad, low sloping shoulders. Short, wide, cylindrical neck. Rolled rim, thickened slightly inward. Flattened oval handle with splayed attachments just below rim. Shoulder lacks ridging.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric: 2.5YR 6/6, light red. Slip: 7.5YR 8/2, pinkish white, to 10YR 8/4, very pale brown. Hard, smooth, somewhat gritty fabric with abundant golden mica, abundant, very small, spherical and tabular, white inclusions and few, small, subrounded, black inclusions; sparse large spalling. Thin, dull slip, approaching off-white in places. Eastern Aegean/western Asia Minor.
Preservation comment
Two joining fragments preserve ca. 50% of shoulder, entire neck and rim, most of one handle, and upper attachment of other handle. Slight, sparse pitting and gouging.
