Description
Plate. Low-flaring wall. Exterior has white slip-wash dissipating down body and wheel ridging; interior has white slip and yellowish green glaze. Sgraffito decoration incised deeply by wide point on middle to lower body (near floor?): at least three concentric lines form two empty bands.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric: 2.5YR 7/8, light red. Slip: white. Glaze: yellowish green (PMS 616). Somewhat soft, fine fabric with very rare, small, rounded, white (lime) and small, sparkling specks; very rare, small voids. Thin, even, dull slip as wash. Thick, somewhat uneven, semilustrous glaze shows crazing and frequent bubbles.
