Description
Short, solid, conical spike toe.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric (core): 5YR 6/4, light reddish brown, to 10YR 6/6, pinkish read; (exterior surface): 10YR 8/3, very pale brown and paler. Hard, somewhat coarse fabric with granular to hackly break containing uncommon, small, angular, quartz and rare, small to medium, subangular, white (limestone) inclusions. Consistent white skin from use of saltwater. Tripolitanian fine fabric.
Preservation comment
One fragment preserves three quarters of toe. Slight, sparse abrasion, pitting, and chipping; slightly worn breaks.
