Tripolitanian Amphora
Short, solid, conical spike toe.
Fabric description
Fabric (core): 5YR 6/4, light reddish brown, to 10YR 6/6, pinkish read; (exterior surface): 10YR 8/3, very pale brown and paler. Hard, somewhat coarse fabric with hackly fracture containing uncommon, small, angular, quartz and rare, small to medium, subangular, white (limestone) inclusions. Whitened surface from use of saltwater. Tripolitanian fine fabric.
Preservation comment
One fragment preserves three quarters of toe. Slight, sparse abrasion, pitting, and chipping.
