Description
Amphora with rounded shoulder. Red dipinto in large letters on upper shoulder near turn to neck: ΞΙΘ
Fabric, firing, and surface description
7YR 7/6, reddish yellow. Hard, smooth, fine fabric, consistently fired. Mostly smooth to slightly splintery break. Rare to uncommon, well sorted, tiny black and occasional gray bits; uncommon, small, golden micaceous flakes visible on surface. Smoothed surface.
Preservation comment
One small sherd preserves <10% of upper shoulder; slight, sparse, abrasion and scattered pits; mostly clean breaks; very thin, small patches of encrustation.
