Typical fabric, firing, and surface treatment: Late Roman Corinthian “red“ lamp fabric (medium coarse; rough texture).
Preservation comment
Six joining sherds preserve ca. 80% from top of lamp, including nearly entire discus and shoulder from front to handle to edge of wickhole, and ca. 65% of base and adjacent walls. Moderate, extensive abrasion and chipping; worn breaks; infrequent, thick chunks to patches of encrustation.
