Fabric, firing, and surface description
Typical Late Roman African lamp fabric: coarse bits and slightly hackly break; thick, semiglossy slip, purple to rich red. Northern Tunisian?
Preservation comment
One large sherd preserves roughly 65% of lamp, including nearly entire discus, roughly two-thirds of shoulder and wall, small part of channel, entire handle, and toughly two-thirds of base. Slight to moderate, somewhat extensive abrasion and rare chipping; slightly worn breaks; and thick patch of encrustation at back.
