Description
Amphora with wide shoulder. Black dipinto in two to three lines(?) on shoulder.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Orange brown core; interior surface light brown (1mm); exterior surface more pale light brown (2mm); consistently fired. Fine, medium hard; smooth to slightly granular break. Rare, small, well sorted, subrounded and subangular dark bits and more uncommon white (calcareous) inclusions; very rare, medium, rounded lime chunks; common, very small gold mica flakes. Variant of LRA1? Outside surface finely smoothed.
Preservation comment
One sherd preserves small part of shoulder with dipinto. Slight, moderate abrasion and minor chipping around edges; worn breaks; extensive, thin film on encrustation on exterior surface.
