Kenchreai IV RC22e Amphora
Description
Amphora. Low, rounded shoulerd. Red dipinto in two(?) lines across upper shoulder and joint to lower neck.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Very pale brown to buff, consistently fired. Very fine, hard; smooth break. Very rare, well sorted, tiny black and white bits; faintly micaceous (golden?). Finely smoothed on exterior.
Preservation comment
One large sherd preserves part of shoulder to neck; outer edge of one lower handle attachment. Slight, sparse abrasion; somewhat worn breaks; thick, small patches of encrustation on exterior.
