Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric: pale reddish yellow. Somewhat soft, fine to slightly sandy, smooth to crumbly fracture, few tiny bits visible, well sorted (black, gray, red; micaceous traces). Thin, uneven, matte slip, reddish brown with an orange hue. Centrsl Italian.
Preservation comment
Two joining fragments preserve (a) ca. 15% from upper part of lamp, including small part of front shoulder and nozzle, and (b) ca. 75% from base and adjacent walls, including attachment of handle ornament. Slight to moderate, extensive erosion and abrasion; slip largely flaked away; worn breaks. Cloud of secondary scorching across interior and exterior.
