Preservation description
Strip of black sheating, torn along one margin and cut along other three; small square hole near one margin (for fastening?) with latitudinal fissues extending outward. Irregular, slightly rough, thin patina of pale gray to black lead sulfide on all surfaces. Weathering consistent with long marine submersion.
