Large hemispherical cup or handleless(?) krater. Rounded body. Concave rim marked below on exterior face by raised band and flange and above by squared-off lip. Three narrow horizontal bands of rouletting on upper body. Large size and elaborate rim identify this as Form 1b variant.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Dark orange fabric, slip slightly darker with tinge of red?; consistently fired. Fine, somewhat soft; smooth break; uncommon, tiny, poorly sorted, dark and light bits; densely micaceous in tiny specks. Thin but even, semiglossy slip, flaking near edges, over surviving exterior and rim and down inside upper wall.
Preservation comment
Two joining sherds preserve less than 25% of upper body and rim. Slight, sparse abrasion, chipping, and gouging; clean breaks.
