- Conservation
- 1960s: joining with shellac and extensive infilling with white plaster.
- Description
- Dish, rounded walls and squared rim with slight outer bead, ring foot. Gently-curving floor has two, widely-spaced concentric circles of short rouletting set slightly towards wall. Rounded wall has slight convex curve on inner face. On exterior wall is separated from lower face by slight inflection. Ring foot has sloping faces and flat underside. Underside of base has single offset forming broad plane inside ring.
- Fabric, firing, and surface description
- The fabric is somewhat pink for ware, though may be discolored by marine environment. Where best preserved, the thin red slip is typical, though it was mostly been abraded away.
- Preservation comment
- Eleven sherds, many joining, preserve ca. 50% of vessel and entire profile; less of rim is extant. Some breaks are modern. Extensive, severe erosion and abrasion, so that slip is very abraded; worn breaks; extensive gray discoloration. Weathering consistent with long submersion in marine environment.
