Description
Cup with conical body and concave vertical rim. The rim has a thin groove below rim on outer face. The foot is marked off from wall by distinct plane. Incised spiral around center of underside of base. An imitation of Italian Sigillata Conspectus form 22.
Fabric, firing, and surface description
Fabric very fine with no visible inclusions. Fabric and surface are worn and lightened in color by marine exposure.
Preservation comment
Four joining sherds preserve ca. 25% of rim in two sections, full profile, and entire base. Extensive, moderate erosion and abrasion with sparse pitting and scratching. Weathering consistent with long marine submersion.
