Fabric, firing, and surface description
Thin light gray core with reddish orange surface (2mm interior; 5.5-6mm exterior) fired to brown across handle. Coarse, somewhat soft; granular to hackly break. Common sand added, small to medium, mostly rounded and subrounded: mostly gray, clear (quartzitic), offwhite-yellow, and white (lime; possibly shell?); faintly golden micaceous; uncommon to common, small to medium, mostly elongated voids.
Preservation comment
One large sherd preserves most of handle, broken on rim of knob, and small part of contiguous rim and wall. Moderate, extensive pitting and flaking, slightly soft and powdery surface, erosion consistent with marine submersion over a long period; worn breaks.
